Do you have a desire to become a role model with challenging youths? Can you relate to pupils on a personal level and build relationships quickly? Do you have experience working within a Pupil Referral Unit? If so, I have roles for you starting as soon as possible! I am currently working with a number of Pupil Referral Units throughout Kirklees who are looking for resilient support workers to provide holistic support to pupils that have been excluded from a mainstream school setting.
-Working with Key stage 2 - 4 pupils
-Providing support to pupils presenting very challenging behaviour
-Be comfortable with potential crisis and confrontation from pupils
-Teach teach or MAPA qualified would be highly desirable
We are going to be running a Team teach course very shortly giving you the skills and understanding to restrain pupils in a safe manner if required. The types of candidates that seem to get on well are ex-military/police/youth workers but if you have a patient and forward thinking attitude, this could be ideal for you.
