Assist in maximising the team's contribution towards the effective operation and maintenance of the sewerage network ensuring excellent customer service is provided. Carry out thorough investigations to reduce sewer flooding, pollution incidents and other network issues.
Carry out comprehensive sewer investigations to identify the root cause and resolve using the appropriate resource either contractor, direct labour and promote potential solutions through business.

Ensure pollution investigations are thoroughly carried out to identify the root cause and resolve using the appropriate resource to minimise the impact on the environment.

Ensure flooding investigations are thoroughly carried out to identify the root cause and resolve using the appropriate resource to minimise repeat sewer flooding.

Highlight potential investment projects or plans to meet future demands on assets or resolve identified shortfalls. Ensure any investment projects are completed in accordance with company standards.

Excellent customer liaison skills including responding to written complaints within agreed timescales, getting it right first time every time ensuring there are no second stage complaints or CC Water / Ofwat contacts or avoidable low R&R scores.

Ensure that company health and safety guidelines are adhered by self and others in the team. Report all health and safety issues to line manager on the same working day. No avoidable accidents or injuries, all health and safety procedures adhered to and near misses reported in a timely manner.

Assist in ensuring that Quality Environmental Management System records and accreditation is maintained.

Represent the department at key stakeholder meetings with the EA, Local Authorities and contractors.

ESSENTIAL
Engineering awareness including construction design and maintenance (CDM) regulations
An understanding of the water industry
Good understanding of environmental issues
Experience of working in a customer focussed environment
Experience of producing detailed and accurate reports.
Experience of effectively communicating to multi stakeholder teams.

USEFUL
Specific knowledge of design and operation of sewer network;
Quality Environmental and Health and Safety procedures
Knowledge and understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks (customer, financial, H&S, quality, environmental, etc)

ESSENTIAL
Good skills on standard Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
BTEC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a science, engineering / construction or environmental related discipline.
Valid UK driving licence

USEFUL
Good understanding of corporate systems, SFS, AMPs, Elyx, CC&B Maximo etc.
