An employee-focused business that's proven stable sales and growth is in search of an aspiring Supply Chain & Purchasing Manager to join the management team as part of a new structure.
Based in Wakefield the Supply Chain & Purchasing Manager will have the primary function to plan, implement and monitor overall supply chain strategy in order to maximise efficiency and productivity.

The role has core responsibility for sourcing and negotiating pricing for equipment,
goods and services. Developing and maintaining good relationships with suppliers.

Main duties

* Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy.
* Determine critical supply chain key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
* Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
* Processing purchase orders in a timely and efficient manner.
* Negotiate with supply partners to ensure pricing for supplies is consistently competitive and quality is consistently reliable.
* Control inventory ensuring optimum levels within the business.
* Support the regular management of bills of materials for products.
* Identify process bottlenecks and implement solutions in a timelymanner.
* Assess, manage and mitigate risks to the supply chain.
* Work with Finance, Sales, Technical and Operations team to determine the best and most reliable suppliers.
* Put in place a robust business continuity plan for business-critical suppliers.
* Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers.
* Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service teams.

Skills & Qualifications

* Previous working experience as a Supply Chain and/or Purchasing
Manager.
* Hands on experience with supply chain management software.
* Critical thinker with the ability to accurately analyse information
and apply problem-solving skills.
* Team player.
* Good time-management skills
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to report clearly and concisely.
* Reporting skills.
* Detail and deadline oriented.
* Confident user of Microsoft Excel.
* Willingness to travel internationally.
* Full Driving licence.
