The Company:

The Client is a well-established business with over 20 years of successful trading in the UK Foodservice market. It is highly experienced in importing foods from around the world and sells to a wide range of high-profile branded groups, independently-owned caterers, Wholesalers and Cash & Carry businesses.

The product portfolio is multi-temperature, comprising own-brand and branded goods including many which are exclusive to the business in the UK Foodservice market. They cover all meal occasions and day-parts.

The business operates from modern premises in the Thames Valley with excellent transport links for its UK-wide customer base.

The Role:

This is a new position designed to maximise the full Sales resource of the company, both Field-sales and Internal support teams.

The Group Sales Manager will give clear direction, control, and motivation to all connected with the sales effort. Consequently, the Marketing function will also report into the job-holder.

Important lessons have been learned through the tough trading conditions of 2020. One of which is the need to diversify the company's customer-base. As a result, the successful candidate must build on the existing established base by developing business with new Foodservice National Accounts, as well as acquiring Customers in new Sectors of the food market.

It is a senior role, reporting to the Managing Director of the Group. As a member of the senior management team, the job-holder must communicate effectively and positively with all department heads.

The Individual:

We are looking for an ambitious senior sales-person to lead a team:

* which will develop the existing customer-base, and;

* plan and implement a strategy to find, approach, and win new Key and National Accounts within the Foodservice market and related channels supplying into that marketplace.

The successful candidate will:

* Evidence outstanding sales results from previous positions, both in terms of turnover and profitability.

* Demonstrate perseverance in winning new business.

* Have a 'hands on' approach to the role, which will include direct management of a high-profile Account Portfolio.

* Show a clear understanding of the modern Foodservice market and have a strong background with National Accounts, particularly in the Casual Dining sector.

* Be an experienced and accomplished negotiator.

* Be numerate - with an understanding of margins and product pricing.

* Have a team-player attitude with outstanding communication skills.

* Be comfortable presenting premium products to Food Professionals.
