Senior General Ledger Accountant - EMEA
Worcester
GBP45-55k per annum
Our client, an international manufacturing organisation based in the Worcester area, is now looking to recruit a Senior General Ledger Accountant to join the business.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have German language skills as well as both US GAAP and UK GAAP accounting frameworks.
Main Purpose:
Prepare and Book Journal Entries
Analyse Financial Information
Analysing and interpreting financial information, provide assurance that information complies with professional and regulatory standards
Coordinate Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Close Processes
At the end of the month, quarter or year, record information such as accruals fixed assets, reclass, and interdepartmental entries into the company's accounting ledger. Perform account analysis to make sure that entries and balances are correct. Monthly Hyperion reporting.
Reconcile Accounts
On a regular basis, reconcile accounts with the general ledger. Ensure that all entries are accurate and that transactions are reported in accordance with accounting standards and government regulations.
Main Tasks:
For UK entity as well as other European entities:
•Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts related to payroll.
•Verify, allocate monthly journals for cost movements, accruals and prepayments etc. and posting to general ledger.
•Ensure accurate coding of all P&L and Balance sheet transactions.
•Control and journal all stock movements.
•Analyse PPV/FIFO report for Purchase variances and post to General Ledger.
•Intrastat and freight reporting.
•Produce site scrap report.
•Preparation and running of stock takes.
•Coordinate month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process.
•Monthly reporting of financial figures and Data Forms in Oracle Hyperion.
•Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
•Participate in financial standards settings.
•Leading the process of tax audits and tax returns.
•Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
•Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process
•Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
•Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
•Support and cover for any function as related to the operation of an accounts department, including job cover for absence.
•Liaise with Accounting Manager to improve financial procedures
•Ad hoc project work
