Position: Welder
Based on the outskirts of Ipswich
Salary up to GBP28,000 DPOE
Hours Monday to Friday 1.30pm - 10pm -

Conrad Finance are pleased to be working with an established business based on the outskirts of Ipswich who are currently looking to recruit an experienced Welder to join their growing team on a permanent basis.
This excellent opportunity is offered as a permanent position working a late shift - Monday to Friday between 1.30pm - 10pm
The successful candidate will have previous experience as a welder and be able to demonstrate a proven track record within a Manufacturing, Production or Engineering organisation.
The goal of a Welder is to safely assemble, weld, dress and quality check products according to the SOP and relevant drawings provided.
You will support the team with the manufacture of Jigs and tooling for new products and redesigns
Work in a safe manner and always adopting best practices
You will be personally accountable for completing your day to day activities in accordance with SOPs and Drawings
Proactively suggest improvements in processing, tooling and equipment to increase safety, quality and efficiency
You will check quality of your own operations and escalate relevant issues
Responsible for looking after equipment, ensuring issues are raised with team leader
Escalation of any problems in completing their day to day targets/work e.g. product quality and job training, adopting stop & fix approach
Maintain housekeeping to a high standard, ensuring work areas used are kept to standard at all times, with cleaning up as you go
Work in other areas of the workshop as necessary
The successful candidate will:
TIG weld to a HIGH standard with very neat welds 1-6mm thickness
Be able to read drawings
Braise to a high standard
Grinding/Dressing/DA Sanding
Be a team player, prepared to support their colleagues to ensure the team targets are met
Complete quality checks and use measuring equipment
Have a can do approach and always looking to make improvements in ways of working
