Our client based in Gosport, is currently recruiting for a Benefits Team Leader to join their team.

This is a part time role offering 20-25 hours per week.The client is flexible with working days and currently working from home.

Key Task will include:

* To supervise the Benefits Assessment team including assessors, customer service and administration staff ensuring the prompt and accurate processing of all claims.

* To organise and monitor the work and output of the Assessment teams ensuring all processing targets are met and staff are motivated and supported.

* Undertake a continuing program of quality assurance checking.

* To assist Management in ensuring all Performance Indicators are achieved, overpayments kept within target levels and all subsidy maximised.

* To undertake timely decisions, and reconsiderations in complex and sensitive benefit cases and ensure decisions are notified in a professional and empathetic manner.

* To be conversant with current Benefits Regulations ensuring knowledge is kept current at all times.

Undertake written appeals and represent the Authority at court and Tribunal.

To supervise Benefits Assessment Team including responsibility for personal review, performance, training and development, sickness absence and welfare issues.
