Mechanical / Electrical Engineer
Special Purpose Machinery build and repair
Harrogate area
Days only, permanent position
Skilled Workshop Engineer required a growing business to undertake new build, refurbishment and installation of special purpose machinery. The ideal candidate will be multi skilled with experience of building and/or repair of industrial machinery.
The role will be based mainly in the workshop with a requirement to visit client's sites occasionally.
Duties will include:
* Stripping down, rebuilding, refurbishing and upgrading of machines
* Replacing parts
* Servicing and repairing machinery as required
* Stripping down, , repairing, replacing parts, re-greasing machinery and rebuilding
* Assembly of newly designed bespoke new machinery
* Working from engineering drawings
* Electrical fitting and panel wiring
* re-manufacture and high-technology internal upgrade
* setup and testing to customer specification and satisfaction
* Problem solving with broken machinery
* Component repair and replacement
* Pre-delivery set-up and testing of machines
* Machinery installation and commissioning and operator training
* On-site service and repair
* assessing component and sub-assembly condition
* component repair and replacement
The ideal Mechanical / Electrical Engineer Fitter will:
* Ideally have worked with bespoke machinery build and repair previously
* Be apprentice trained and / or hold a relevant qualification in engineering
* Have experience of working with automated equipment
* Be multi-skilled with either a mechanical or electrical bias
* Ideally have worked in an maintenance engineering / fitting capacity previously
* Have excellent fault-finding and repair skills
* Be a good problem solver and have a confident understanding of mechanical machinery
* Have a strong willingness to learn and be keen to progress in this role
* Any bespoke machinery building experience would be of great interest
* Have electrical wiring / fitting
* Clean driving licence essential
