The company specialises in the manufacture, distribution and installation of physical security solutions. It was founded in 1990 has grown to become one of the leading suppliers of safes and secure storage solutions in the UK.
They are now looking for an IT Systems Manager to move the Group's internal IT systems forward. There is a strong desire to get better value from current systems and to improve the quality of management information that it can produce. There is also a desire to use IT to improve processes and efficiencies within the business as well as to better integrate the two companies within the Group.
In addition to managing the internal IT systems the business has an ambitious sales strategy that sees a growing focus on technology driven products that are often network connected. To help blend the physical, electronic and software driven world envisaged, specific expertise to support the sales team, after sales support team and most importantly customers is needed.
The role will be largely office based in the Group Head Office at Holmfirth, but you must also be willing to travel to the other office in Leeds, and travel nationally and internationally to meet with suppliers and customers and complete installations as required.
Specifically, you will be required to:
- Manage and improve the company's IT infrastructure and software system - Microsoft NAV
- Liaise with the IT support company to ensure hardware and general software systems are fit for purpose and that colleagues are getting adequate support.
- Introduce and manage an in-house Cyber Security policy and IT Disaster Recovery Plan.
- Help the company achieve ISO27001 and ISO27002.
- Becoming the company Product Expert on a small number of critical lines and support the Sales Team with technical presentations.
- Train and help the sales, installation, service engineer and telephone support teams and provide 2nd line IT support to customers.
- Instal software and hardware at client locations nationally & internationally
To be successful you will need the following skills and experience:
- Experience working in Windows / Microsoft and Linux environments
- Experience working with and troubleshooting TCP/IP, DNS, Microsoft SQL 2012/2014/2016, Windows Server 2012/2016, Windows 7- 10, Teamviewer Remote Support, IIS6/7 Web, Firewall/Router troubleshooting and GitHub usage.
- Ability to understand and discuss cyber security issues at a high level with clients' IT teams
Networking.
- Solid problem-solving skills.
It will also be beneficial if you have knowledge of some or all of the following: Microsoft NAV, PostgreSQL, .net Framework, JavaScript, Python, Restful APIs, C+, C++, ASP would all be advantageous.
You will need to be keen and enthusiastic and willing to learn all about the security, locking and access control industries and to engage with new products, however, full product training will be given.
