We are currently recruiting for a Digital Technician based in Lisburn. The role is 20 hours + per week.

Reporting directly to the Keeper of Collections, the post-holder will assist with the digitisation of objects and photographic collections and the administration of photographic functions within ILCLM. The role also involves retrieval and supply of images for exhibitions.

Responsibilities include support for exhibition maintenance and conservation of collections and the audio visual set ups for events, lectures and associated exhibitions.

1. To assist the Keeper of Collections in the provision of a photographic service to fulfil the needs of the museum in terms of digital imaging and the use of Photoshop software to produce images. This includes photography for research, exhibitions. public requests through other officers (Research, Education and Assistant Keeper) and promotions and publications.

2. Apply photographic techniques e.g. image editing software e.g. ADOBE Photoshop to fulfil the requirements of the photographic collections, conservation, and restoration of images and specialised studio photography of the object collections for record and publication.

3. Maintain records in terms of numerical retrieval and imputing such data onto the Portfolio database.

4. Maintain digitisation equipment e.g. digital camera. flatbed scanner, iMac and Mac Book Pro. and install sound, and audio-visual equipment as required. Including liaison with contractors servicing and carrying out maintenance of multi-media and audio-visual controls systems and equipment.

5. Ensure all Health and Safety legislation, guldellnes and Council Health and Safety policies and procedures are complied with in relation to the services and activities of the facility.
