SKA are currently recruiting Community Support and Resource Workers (x2) for Bradford Metropolitan District Council, within their Leaving Care Team.
The temporary/agency contract is long term in order to cover sick leave, with immediate starts available (subject to DBS/compliance checks completed)

Below are a list of responsibilities and duties as well as an outline of the teams available.

Key Responsibilities

* To provide support services for children and families as set out in the service area for which you are working to children and YP and their families from birth up the age of 25 ensure you work within legal frameworks and policies and procedures appropriate to your service.

* To work in partnership with other professionals involved with the children and their families.

* Respond to children and families in crisis and to ensure the safeguarding needs of children and young people are met.

Main Responsibilities:

* To undertake direct work with children, young people and families, including participating in group work (dependant on service area).

* To undertake assessments of need and devise and implement appropriate plans for children young people and families and to ensure plans are reviewed on a regular basis.

* Support monitor and assess contact between children young people and their families as appropriate.

* To encourage the participation of children and young people in their own plans.

* To be responsible for appropriate monitoring and administration of a range of financial support to children, young people and their families.

* To work in partnership with other agencies to achieve best possible outcomes for children young people families and carers.

* To maintain accurate up to date and appropriate records and to write reports as required for meetings, reviews etc using identified electronic systems and equipment .

* To attend court as required to represent the department.

* To undertake duty, cover and on call duties as required by the needs of the service.

* To attend and contribute to team meetings and contribute to service developments as appropriate.

* To promote the service, providing advice information and support.

* Contribute to the support of students, apprenticeships, trainees.

* To attend supervision and annual appraisal.

* To be responsible for your own continuing personal and professional development, and ensuring attendance at mandatory training and refreshers appropriate to their role.

* All Community Resource Workers will work with individual children Young Person and families. At Levels 2 and 3 this includes case holding responsibilities with supervision and management support appropriate to levels of training, experience, knowledge and competency of the CRW and the level of complexity of the work involved.

* Level 3 CRW's will be expected to undertake responsibility as the main case holder for a number of children and Young People in need and Care Leavers, This will include arranging and chairing appropriate meetings and supporting Care Leavers into independent living.

* With appropriate supervision make decisions/recommendations regarding the needs of children and families, excepting those which affect the liberty or legal status of service users, in which case post holders, with appropriate supervision, will make recommendations

Qualifications/Registrations Required:
CRW 3 Level 4 NVQ or equivalent (e.g. Relevant degree, DipSW, RGN, Teaching, Youth and Community etc or equivalent as specified by the service)
