Salary: GBP50,000 - GBP60,000 per annum

DevOps Engineer - The Role:
As DevOps Engineer, in conjunction with our GCP Consultant Partners, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and migration to a GCP cloud platform from an existing bare-metal solution.
You will also work on the analysis, deployment, and maintenance of various systems for corporate and production usage, working with our DevOps Manager, Head of IT and development team to streamline the full development lifecycle.
You would also ensure uptime by making the right choice at all stages of the project life cycle. You can, for example, define hardware needs and discuss design choices, work on optimising and always improving our solutions to ensure the best possible result.

DevOps Engineer - Key Responsibilities:
On a day-to-day basis, we are looking for somebody to:
- Systems analysis, development, and deployment
- Analysing the needs of the company in terms of infrastructure requirements
- Devising the best solutions (new and existing), following best practices
- Work with our DevOps Manager and team to plan and implement a transition strategy for existing bare-metal to GCP migration
- Improving, optimising, and maintaining the current infrastructure including reducing costs
- System monitoring and maintenance to ensure uptime, security and integrity of implemented systems, including out-of-hours coverage (subject to on-call rota)
- Liaising with the DevOps Manager and Company Directors regarding the acquisition of hardware and software needed to meet the requirements of the business
DevOps Engineer - You:
- Extensive knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) products, services, implementation, and methodology
- A high level of Linux knowledge and experience, particularly in CentOS 7 and bare-metal environments
- A strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Containers, Nginx, PHP, MySQL, NoSQL solutions
- Ability to work with, devise, and implement CI/CD pipelines and practices
- A strong determination and work ethic to find the best solution to any problem
It is also desirable that you have:
- Knowledge of Lucene-based search indexing systems
