Blue Water Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor based in the West Midlands for one of the UK's leading construction companies. Our client specialises in key Civil Engineering projects as well as Design & Build contracts.
Our client is looking to add a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work within their HS2 Department. The Suitable candidate must be based in the West Midlands area and be willing to commute to our clients Head Office as well as HS2 sites.
A strong general civil engineering background will be essential for this position, due to a wide variety of civil engineering elements.
Job Responsibilities
* Control of commercial matters on several projects including production of cashflow and forecasting.
* Carrying out internal cost value management of projects producing monthly project management reports for review with senior management
* Procurement, selection, and management of subcontractor accounts from award to final account
* Liaising with the Client/Client's representative on commercial issues
* Completion of monthly valuations submitting applications as required by the company/Contract requirements.
* Monitoring of the contract programme identifying/raising early warnings/potential variations/quotations
* Valuation of variations, preparation and submission of quotations/compensation events as required.
Qualification / Background
* Preferably BSc degree qualified (Quantity Surveying)
* Main contractor background - ideally civil works
* Experience handling claims, variations etc.
