NPD Technologist

An excellent opportunity for a detail focussed individual with enthusiasm and interest in food manufacturing to join a FMCG leader who supply their products globally based at a modern facility in Elton.

The Beverages New Product Development (NPD) Technologist is a wide-ranging role supporting all aspects of product development and implementation in Beverages.

The right candidate will focus on co-ordinating and supporting all elements of NPD within the Beverages NPD team, including but not limited to implementing new development systems, supporting new product qualification, supporting development of new packaging, materials and managing small change.

Qualities we look for;

Thorough understanding of brand owner process and requirements.
Understanding of production team requirements.
Appreciation of detailed, accurate product specifications.
Ability to manage multiple instances of small change.
Food manufacturing / FMCG factory experience (BRC / ISO / HACCP).
Beverage / FMCG production process understanding
IT skills - develop and maintain internal and external ways of workingFunctional / Technical Skills

Experience working within teams and ability to demonstrate knowledge of how to successfully prioritise activities within a team.
Flexibility and ability to adapt and lead change, clearly communicating goals and performance.
Clear communication skills internal stakeholders.
Confident and able to control messaging on project progress and next actions.
Strong knowledge of the Beverage product development process
Scientific approach to trials and measurement of success

Responsibilities;

Co-ordinate and support all elements of NPD within Beverages
Manage NPD process from brand owner request to implementation.
Deliver NPD to agreed timelines.
Sign new products over to production.
Maintain and develop frameworks guaranteeing standards for NPD implementation.
Integrate packaging development, liquid development and plant development functions when delivering new products.
Point of NPD contact for external and internal customers.
Capture plant performance of non-standard NPD projects.
Measure NPD against success criteria and develop improvement plans where needed.
Go/ No go NPD recommendations
Risks to plant and product
NPD project priority / use of time
Project deliverables
Trial outcomes
Planning / phasing of NPD projects
Determine next steps for failed trials
Any other duties / projects as required by the business.
