Pertemps are working with our established Public Sector client to recruit multiple Visitor Service Forest Rangers on a temporary basis. As a Visitor Service Forest Ranger you will work as part of a team concentrating on promotion of responsible visitor behaviours and reducing negative impact on the life of residents. Your involvement will help visitors feel welcome by ensuring their safety and security.

Locations of work will be:
Glen Affric (Dog Falls)

Due to the nature of this role, candidates must be hold a valid Disclosure Certificate issued within the last 12 months or be willing to apply for one (client will cover cost to obtain if you do not already hold one)

Duties Include:
Providing verbal welcome including information and advice to arriving public.
Engagement and education of visitors to promote responsible behaviours as per the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
Distribution of printed educational resources and FLS reminder to pay notices.
Providing information on local resources (camping vacant parking spaces, toilet facilities, etc).
Gathering evidence, monitoring and reporting visitor numbers and behaviour.
Reporting breaches of regulations to appropriate enforcement services (Police, Fire Service, parking services).
Litter picking and bagging dumped rubbish, general site clear up.
Managing car park capacities, opening closing car parks.
Erecting temporary signage/cones as required.
Skills/Experience:
Good communication skills- being able to put across a clear message and explain/reinforce guidance.
Be prepared to work outdoors in upland areas in all weathers
All applicants must have access to their own outdoor clothing & walking boots / shoes and appropriate warm clothing.
Any form of hospitality or customer service / dealing with the public
Environmental knowledge / awareness, for example university study
Involvement in the local area / community
Experience of working outdoors including during inclement weather
First Aid trained (Desirable)
