Adecco are proud to be recruiting on behalf of the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner for Cheshire for a Communications Officer to join their team on an initial 6 month period.
The Communications Officer will support the delivery of the Commissioner's communication and campaign activities. Responding to media issues, to protect and enhance the reputation of the Commissioner.
You will be responsible for implementing the OPCC's communication strategy to raise profile and awareness of the role of the Police and Crime Commisioner. To supervise the day-to-day running of the OPCC news desk, ensuring media requests are effectively triaged; reputational issues prioritised; and communications approaches developed accordingly to address issues and minimise reputational damage.
Maintain high levels of engagement with our audiences on the Commissioner's digital engagement channels, identifying tactics to encourage increased engagement. Create meaningful and engaging digital content for the Commissioner's digital engagement channels, which includes taking high quality photographs, producing video content and creating in
Must be able to travel across the County to attend events and public meetings
Must be educated to Level 6 in a relevant field - communications, marketing or journalism or equivalant
Do you have the experience/skills in the following areas? (if so, we would love to hear from you!)
Experienced, passionate writer and editor, ideally with a journalistic background
Substantial experience planning, developing, creating and evaluating editorial content
Planning experience, to enable the Commissioner and OPCC to plan its communications activities
Significant experience of dealing with sensitive reputational issues and crisis communications in a political environment
Significant experience of working with digital media channels and producing video content
Some understanding and awareness of communications evaluation
Significant experience working in a high profile, pressured communications environment
This post is initially for a 6 month period
GBP15.44 per hour, full time hours
