We are currently working alongside a privately owned and established multimillion-pound engineering firm, who are now looking to appoint an experienced Engineering Contracts Manager.
Company specific training will be given but the successful applicant must have a proven track record in a similar role.
This role will suit an ambitious and driven individual who is looking for a promising future and career. You must be intelligent, extremely customer focused, able to support and guide your team in your department.
ESSENTIAL TO APPLY
* Experienced Contracts Manager
* Experience of Managing and organising a department.
* Experience of project engineer/management
* Experience of NEC3 full and short form contracts terms also unique contract terms
* Experience of dealing with project clients.
* Experience of dealing with sub-contractors.
* Qualification of HND/OND/Degree. Other suitable qualifications maybe considered.
THE ROLE
The effective operation of the Contracts Department in providing;
1. An efficient, cost effective and prompt service to customers at all times.
2. Its contribution towards the Company's Business Objectives.
3. Effective management of all personnel within the department - permanent, temporary or subcontract and resources available to the department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
(Due to the changing nature of the business your job description will inevitably change. You will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within your capabilities as directed by your line Director).
1. All contracts from receipt of order through to completion of warranty period (the contract period) including the following;
* Taking over responsibility of project from sales at the point each order is received and processed.
* Ensuring the agreed requirements for all contracts are met including meeting delivery dates, effective installation and operation and satisfactory completion of each customer order in budget and within any constraints particular to each order.
* Providing the first point of contact for the customer at all stages during the contract
* All contract administration including contract review and terms and conditions.
* All technical administration and problems solving.
* All financial administration, negotiation of price variations and changes
* Liaison with all other departments as necessary to assist and help coordinate their activities in order to meet the requirements of each order.
* Prompt notification to accounts regarding invoicing and applications.
2. Planning, organizing, management and effective completion of all work undertaken on Customers sites during the contract period.
3. Troubleshooting and problem solving with assistance from other departments where required.
4. Dealing with customer complaints and achieving Customer Satisfaction.
5. Managing all contracts/orders to ensure deadlines are achieved.
6. Ensuring all invoicing is undertaken in a timely manner and payments received within T&C's.
7. Coordinating department work force to ensure all department employees are gainfully employed.
8. Setting of departmental objectives to meet the company's business objectives.
9. Ensuring all department employees undergo an annual review to ensure they have the required training, resources and abilities in their role to fulfil the departmental objectives.
10. Ensuring the department has the resources to fulfil the department objectives.
11. Reporting of departmental progress to your line Director, the Board of Directors, or other departments (where required)
