Our product range comprises of clay bricks, Thermalite blocks, aggregate blocks, Red Bank chimney, roofing and flue systems, precast concrete and flooring products and Formpave permeable paving.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in the position of Area Transport Manager at Whittlesey.
The Role
- All elements of the delivery agent operational management
- Ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety legislation / instructions
- Operating licence / centre compliance (daily vehicle checks, vehicle maintenance arrangements, driving hours and operating centre suitability)
- Cost Control & Performance to budget targets
- Liaising with maintenance providers
- Analytical approach to problem solving
- Monitoring & Developing, performance of your team of delivery agents
- Work to defined targets & objects promoting Forterra Core Values
- First point of contact with Forterra sites within the geographical location
- Build a close working relationship with other areas within the function along with the wider business
- Have a customer focused approach to ensure service levels are maintained
The Candidate
The successful candidate should be able to work with little supervision using own initiative to deliver objectives in a time constrained environment, along with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, but especially with reports and others within the department.
- Minimum of National Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Transport Management
- Formal Health & Safety Qualification or willingness to work towards attainment (NEBOSH / IOSH Managing Safety)
- Computer literate, with knowledge of Microsoft products & ideally experience with Microlise TMC
