A leading design and manufacturing business near Wymondham are looking to hire an experienced Electronics R&D Engineer for their R&D department. Working within the Engineering department, you'll primarily work on the manufacture of existing designs and development of next generation machines, specifically used for multi-layer ceramic capacitors and alternative state of the art technologies.

The business are looking for a self-motivated Engineer, with a can-do attitude who is prepared to work autonomously, as part of a close knit and highly skilled team.

Responsibilities:

Work with the current Engineering team to manufacture the current equipment in process.
Develop next generation machines for building multi-layer ceramic capacitors, using alternative technologies.
Provide drawings and equipment to assist with R&D projects.
Specify, source and evaluate appropriate equipment for capacitor manufacture and test.
Manage projects and be able to work to deadlines and budgets.
Liaise with key suppliers for the purchase and supply of both 'off the shelf' commercial and specialist component parts.
Document and compile a project construction manual.

In order for your application to be considered, you'll need the following skills and experience:

Qualification or degree in Electronic Engineering (Desirable)
Experience in the process of building industrial machinery & test equipment, including: the use of SolidWorks for Mechanical Drawing (preferred), or AutoCAD, Electronics Design & Assembly, construction of rack mounted electronic modules and familiarity with machine wiring.
The use of PLC / HMI programming tools.
Familiarity with PC / PLC based machine control using Ethernet & / or CC-Link as communication protocols.
The above also integrates servo control & VSD's.
Experience of interfacing with measurement technology (real time data collection).
Have an understanding of temperature control theory.
Have an appreciation of pneumatics
LabView would be a key skill for future projects.
Knowledge of industrial inkjet, slot die, or other similar techniques for material deposition may be an advantage.
