M&E Buyer
* Permanent Position

* M&E Sub Contractor
Our Client is an established Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Contractor who are currently looking for a Mechanical and Electrical (MEP) Buyer to join its growing team based in South London
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience in a Buying role within the M&E industry and have a confident, positive, proactive & motivated personality with a 'go get' attitude.
In time, there will be an opportunity to help develop and grow a team in this position.
This is an office based job working 5 days a week, 7.30am - 4.30pm
Duties:
* Build and maintain relationships with all suppliers and assessing the reliability of suppliers.
* Dealing effectively with challenges with suppliers and the flow of materials
* Actively participate in answering incoming telephone calls
* Liaising closely with the estimator at the tendering stage to ensure that an accurate project cost is provided
* Identifying potential suppliers and new products
* Assist in the management of incoming email requests to the Purchase Inbox
* Obtain quotations from Suppliers for small value items
* Negotiate prices and discounts with Suppliers for small value items
* Raise Purchase Orders with Suppliers for small value items
* Agreeing delivery times and if required booking delivery slots with our clients Traffic Management System
* Reconcile invoices against purchase orders and ledger
* Complete and return Credit Application Forms
* Actively update On-Hire Reports
* Keep the Management of Van stock up to date
* Filing hard copy Purchase Orders
* Manage and maintain the rebate spreadsheet
* Ensure all electronic housekeeping is completed and up to date
* Manage the New Supplier Process from issuing Contractor Assessment Forms to passing Contractor Assessment Forms to Accounts Team for inputting onto the databases
* Inputting into and Maintaining Supply Chain Database
* Manage the return of signed Subcontract Orders from Subcontractors
* Upload Subcontractor Insurance details onto the databases
* Positive and assertive attitude
