Skilled Site Engineer
Huddersfield/UK
80% Field based
Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 5:00pm (36 hours).
Some Fridays (Overtime) 7:30am to 4:00pm - paid at time and a half
GBP15.17 per hour x 36 hours.
+ GBP1.05 per hour whilst working onsite.
+ Hotel & Breakfast paid when staying away.
+ GBP20 meal allowance per day when staying away.
+ Pension contribution GBP27.31 pw (Employee must contribute 2.5% pw to qualify)
+ Company van provide - Not for personal use.
Due to continued growth, an established and very specialist engineering firm, who design, manufacture, install and maintain their equipment around the UK and some parts of Europe, are now keen to appoint an experienced, apprentice trained and skilled site engineer.
The successful candidate will be given training at Head Office for around 1 month, then ongoing support on site for a few weeks, with an experienced engineer.
80% of the work will be field based. Normally you will be home on a Thursday evening, or sometimes on a Friday evening, depending on where the project is based in the UK.
Monday morning is normally a trip to Head Office to collect equipment before heading to site.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Site Work Supervisor and General Manager, you will be required to:
* Assemble, install, and maintain a range of equipment around the UK.
ESSENTIAL TO APPLY
* Experienced and skilled engineer.
* Recognised engineering apprenticeship.
* Experience in a similar role.
* Site work experience.
* Happy to work away on a regular basis.
* Able to provide own basic tools. (Specialist tools provided)
* Full clean UK driving licence (max 3 points)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Key Duties:
* Loading/unloading of vehicles.
* Removal/Installation, testing and commissioning, maintenance, and breakdown repair of equipment on Customers' sites.
* Inspections and examination of equipment in need of repair to determine requirements and reporting back to enable quotations to be submitted.
* Assembly of other equipment in the workshop.
* Must be able to work to reasonable times and quality standards.
* Driving company vehicles.
Expected to work within the scope of the:
* Quality system BS EN ISO 9001 (including training).
* All company policies including Health & Safety systems and Environmental.
Managerial Responsibilities:
* Supervision of other site work employees.
* Providing assistance to apprentices, labourers, semi-skilled staff etc.
* Representing the company professionally, always acting in its best interests.
* Ensuring not to bring the company into disrepute.
