Mental Health Practitioner

HMP Bullingdon is a category B local remand prison with a resettlement function. We have high numbers of men moving in and out of Reception from courts and from other prisons. The men within the prison have a wide range of healthcare requirements and needs. Ranging from emergency, acute problems to maintenance and management of long term chronic health issues. This can and often does include mental health and substance misuse. There is a focus on health promotion, screening and vaccinations.
About the role
To provide healthcare to the men housed within HMP Bullingdon, promoting health and well-being within the prisoner population. We are looking for experienced Mental Health Practitioners, RMN, Social Workers (Mental Health), Occupational Therapists (Mental Health), Recovery practitioners with experience in the Primary care mental health field. The role will be responsible for assessment and caseload management of those referred into Mental health services. Working as part of a primary and secondary care integrated model, Practitioners will be able to work under their own direction whilst also contributing to group MDT and triage. You will support your team to carry out comprehensive assessments, confidently communicating treatment options and initiating supportive careplans, working with individuals on a 1-2-1 basis alongside the wider multi-disciplinary team. You will model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication and competence.

About you
As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker (Mental Health) or Occupational Therapist (Mental Health) you will understand the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working. You will have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach with excellent communication skills. You will also have experience and understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards.

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week on a salary of up to GBP36500 depending on experience.
