About The Role
EKFB are looking for an Health and Safety Advisor to join the HS2 JV. You will be responsible for the management and completion of investigations relating to all business functions (although predominantly Safety, Health and Wellbeing and Environment) including:
Support those at the scene of an incident to capture all relevant initial information without disturbing the scene.
Prepare and disseminate an 'Incident Flash' to advise the relevant persons of the situation and immediate actions
Initial reporting of the incident on JV, partner entity and client online reporting tools
Conduct interviews & record statements with those associated with the incident to obtain all necessary details
Prepare a 48hr investigation update (as required)
Preparation and delivery of 7day update to the relevant client subject matter experts
Preparation of Investigation Remits, as required Production of thorough Investigation Reports within timeframes instructed by the client and partner entities including immediate and root cause analyses
Appropriate recommendations / Action Plan to prevent recurrence
Ensure all actions are assigned to and closed out by appropriate persons
Route wide site attendance as required
Population and review of JV, partner entity and client online reporting systems
Liaise with the client, partner entities, subcontractors, and any others, including external authorities (HSE, EA etc.), as directed / necessary.
Review all relevant documentation relating to an incident and consult relevant service standards, policies and procedures
Attendance at incident review meetings to share investigation findings and discuss recommendations and learning
Complete and ensure dissemination of other relevant communications including; Alerts, Bulletins, Lessons Learned etc. and ensure implementation accordingly.
Support the business on all aspects of Corporate Events, including but not limited to Stand Downs and Site Safety Inspections
Recommendations for improvement to EKFB's BMS
Provision of data for periodic reporting as appropriate
About You
Excellent investigation and report writing skills, including presentation
Strong knowledge and practical application of HS&E in Construction / Civil Engineering (but not critical)
Experience of conducting incident root cause analysis
Holding or working towards degree [or similar] level qualification in occupational safety and health or other relevant field (not critical)
Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities combined with strong communication and engagement skills
Excellent analytical and judgement skills
Understanding of GDPR
Administrative, organisational and coordination skills
