Position: Quality Inspector/Engineer
Salary: GBP11 - GBP12/hr (perm)
Location: Littlehampton
Beacon are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector/Engineer for this well-established Mechanical Engineering / manufacturing company based in Littlehampton.
The Role is to primarily provide resource for all Goods Inwards Inspection requirements, based upon specified sampling techniques, using mechanical and electronic measuring equipment.
The position will require close liaison with production and stores personnel to ensure priorities are agreed and achieved.
Primary job tasks will include, but will not be limited to -
* Complete goods-inwards quality control using appropriate techniques and equipment
* Measure and record data for First Article Inspections
* Maintain accurate records of receipts, and compile reports as required.
* Evaluate supplied supporting information and certification from suppliers
* Work in conjunction with the Production Quality Engineer on tasks as required.
* Complete measurements against a plan for Product Auditing.
* Support Internal Audits where required
* Membership and support, where required, of Improvement Teams and improvement activities
* Assist in the investigations of customer complaints and the satisfactory completion of 8D reports
* Completion of additional tasks as requested by the Quality Manager
Requirements of the Candidate are -
* Sound knowledge of using inspection equipment
* Clear understanding of engineering drawings & geometric tolerancing
* Ability to utilise appropriate and capable measuring techniques and equipment
* Able, with additional training if required, to operate the FARO measuring arm.
* Knowledge of basic problem-solving skills and tools
* Computer literacy with respect to Microsoft Office packages, including ACCESS
* Able to set work priorities in consultation with key internal 'customers' and work on own initiative to initially try to resolve roadblocks and issues.
* Working appreciation of ISO9001:2015 standard aims
* A level of physical fitness due to the wide range of physical size and weight of some products, though training in the use of lifting equipment will be given.
Mon - Thurs 08:00 -17:00 Friday 08:00 - 14:30
This Quality Inspector/Engineer position is also commutable from Bognor Regis, Worthing, Brighton, Shoreham-by-sea, Storrington, Chichester & West Sussex.
