An excellent opportunity for a Qualified Finance Director with a track record in finance leadership to join a a fast-growing SME with revenues exceeding £40 million from it's group of companies. The groups main activities sit primarily in the re-sale of books, CD’s, DVD’s, tech products and clothing. Ideally you will come from a B2C, FMCG, eCommerce background.

We are a rapidly growing re-commerce business, creating and scaling business models to encourage the reuse of products. Our mission is to embed re-use mechanisms across retail supply chains and drive sustainability.
We currently collect, aggregate and sell a range of products from books, CD’s, DVD’s, tech products and clothing. These are sold via our e-commerce operations to 130+ countries worldwide and also exported through our wholesale operations. In 2020 we shipped over 5m items to our retail customers and 40,000 tons of product to our wholesale customers, ensuring these avoided landfill and reducing carbon emissions.

Your Role:
This newly created role will be responsible for:
1/ analysing and driving financial performance across all existing business units,
2/ helping to craft new business models to promote and accelerate growth.
The candidate will be expected to exchange ideas with the CEO and COO to challenge and refine business strategy. The
role will be very hands-on, redefining the financial framework the business uses to make decisions and the associated
infrastructure.
The role will report directly to the Group CEO and be a board level position. The successful candidate will provide commercial and strategic leadership, driving Data Insight and Operational teams as well as the Finance function.

What you will be doing
+ Improve the speed and accuracy of our KPIs and financial dashboards, using real-time indicators to review pricing algorithms, margins and report on trends pertinent to business performance.
+ Work with our Data Insight team to sign-off pricing mechanics in response to new opportunities, cost changes and tax rate changes and assess their effectiveness.
+ Lead cultural change across the business and develop the finance function to meet the needs of the future.
+ Working with the CEO and COO to review and refine business models and help create new mechanisms for product re-use.
+ Drive resource allocation discussions to meet our strategic goals.
+ Lead process improvement initiatives to enable efficiencies and scale across the organisation.
+ Ensure timely and accurate management and financial reporting as well as creating and monitoring budgets.
+ Manage cashflow requirements in line with our growth and investment plans.
+ Review existing agreements with a view to de-risk underlying exposure.
+ Ensure we fulfil regulatory reporting requirements, particularly related to sales taxes in the EU and US.
+ Analysing competitor behaviour and strategic planning.
About You:
+ ACA/ACCA or CIMA Qualified accountant.
+ A successful track record of working with high growth, high transaction volume companies, demonstrating achievement of scale and ownership of role.
+ At least 10+ years of senior financial leadership experience in e-commerce, ideally with exposure to the recommerce sector.
+ A proven track record leading cultural change with very strong people management skills, supported by strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ An ability to formulate and evaluate new business strategies.
+ Are used to working with very large data-sets and have experience of organising such data to support financial reporting including automating such processes. Exposure to modelling and analytics tools such as Power BI, SQL, Access etc would be an advantage.
+ A strong commercial background with a data-driven approach.
+ Experience of dealing with FX and managing exchange-rate volatility and risk.
+ Based in UK with full, permanent eligibility to work.
+ This is a varied and extremely hands-on role which requires flexibility, enthusiasm, accuracy and attention to detail at all times with strong organisational capabilities and a forward-looking approach.
+ You are ambitious, keen to progress and proactive with a flexible approach to work.
+ You feel comfortable working under pressure both individually and as part of a team.
+ You are confident and results driven with an interest in online technologies.
