Greendale Primary Care Centre is currently looking to recruit an administrator for 30 hours per week. Monday – Friday 12.30 – 6.30pm

£8.91 according to experience

This is to work as part of a team in a busy inner city GP Practice delivering care to the local community.

Experience of working in a health care environment is desirable but not essential.

Being able to remain calm and caring whilst working in a busy environment is essential along with adhering strictly to confidentiality at all times.

Your main duties and responsibilities would be 

Front reception desk

  • Meet and greet patients and all visitors in a professional, caring manner

  • Respond to all queries and requests for assistance from patients and other visitors.

  • Book / cancel / amend appointments as requested.

  • Mark patients as present on arrival.

  • Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover or immediate treatment.

  • Advise patients of relevant charges for private services, accept payment and issue receipts.

  • Ensure sufficient detail is recorded in patient records to enable the clinicians to make an informed decision when allocating appointments or taking further action.

Telephone duties:

  • Answer telephone queries quickly and professionally.

  • Respond to queries and requests for assistance from patients and other service providers.

  • Enter requests for home visits.

  • Make detailed records of queries / requests to enable clinicians to make an informed decision on action to be taken.

  • Use efficient and effective signposting.

Back office duties:

  • Scan and process all incoming correspondence / mail and ensure allocation to the correct colleague.
  • Process incoming results and allocate or inform as appropriate.
  • Ensure that requests for repeat prescriptions are actioned and ready for collection within the time frame provided.
  • Ensure that problems and queries regarding repeat prescriptions are brought to the attention of the appropriate clinician and that follow-up action is taken as per instructed.
  •  Perform other back office duties as required.
