Parking Enforcement Officers make sure that drivers follow parking regulations on public streets and in car parks. If you enjoy working outdoors and want a responsible role, this could be the perfect job for you.
What you'll do
Patrolling to make sure that regulations are being followed, recording and issuing Penalty Charge Notices
Checking parking meters and car park equipment and reporting damage or faults
Checking that car parks are clean and tidy, reporting defective signs and road markings
Identifying and reporting abandoned vehicles
Explaining regulations to motorists and advising them about parking facilities
Directing visitors to the borough, to local attractions and facilities
Checking tickets and attending minor machine faults such as jammed coins or tickets
What you'll bring
Excellent customer service skills
Good spoken and written English and arithmetic skills
Strong communication skills
Resilience - as you could be walking quite long distances on patrol

Salary GBP20,966 per year
45 hours per week
20 days annual leave plus Bank holidays
