Energy Projects Coordinator required for a fantastic contract based in Wakefield

The Role

To lead the day-to-day operation and delivery of the Green Homes Grant LAD2 home energy efficiency improvement schemes, ensuring the effective delivery of high quality energy efficiency improvements and customer care at all times and in line with action plans.
To support the Energy Projects Manager with the delivery of wider Council Home Energy Efficiency Improvement Programme and fuel poverty schemes and initiatives as appropriate.
Field and triage resident enquiries and applications face-to-face, over the phone and via email, whilst maintaining positive customer relationships, including managing complaints and dealing with conflict resolution.
Provide specialist energy advice and support on the efficient use of energy, often to fuel poor low income and vulnerable households, including advice on energy efficiency improvement measures, energy tariffs, housing conditions and facilitating other wider health and wellbeing referrals.
Deliver home visits and surveys, including resident grant and loan applications, and undertake assessments to determine eligibility and identify appropriate support schemes, including obtaining verification and completing legal documentation, whilst ensuring the safe keeping of personal data at all times.
Assess, specify and approve home energy efficiency improvements as part of pre-works protocol and check and sign-off works as part of post-works completion protocols aided at all times by close communication and liaison with contractors and resident applicants.
Coordinate LAD2 and Home Energy Efficiency Improvement Programme performance management processes, including scheme data collection, monitoring and evaluation systems, and customer satisfaction against KPIs and service standards, ensuring issues are highlighted to the Energy Projects Manager.
Monitor and manage large capital scheme budgets in line with budgets, targets, timescales and strategic objectives, which will involve reviewing works quotations, processing invoices, arranging payments, monitoring spend, and maintaining accurate scheme delivery monitoring records and databases.
Develop, foster and maintain effective relationships and regular professional communication with contractors and partners to ensure the successful delivery of LAD2 legal contracts and other Home Energy Efficiency Improvement Programme schemes.
Develop and maintain close working relationships with West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA), Government BEIS and other funders and agencies to maximise the investment of resources in energy and low carbon programmes and influence energy policy, research and investment across the City Region.
Develop and deliver scheme related communication plans and marketing involving a range of channels, including social media, local press, leaflet mailers, community events and door-to-door canvassing.
Coordinate, produce and submit funding agreement monitoring updates to WYCA and prepare clear and effective reports and briefings on complex and technical issues to advise Senior Management, Members and Scrutiny Board to on scheme progress and issues.
Support the delivery of wider fuel poverty and health and housing related holistic approaches and projects, including money and debt advice referral pathways and

The Requirements

Hold a degree level qualification in Regeneration, Economic Growth, Housing, Construction, Energy, and Environmental Science or other relevant discipline or equivalent level qualification OR can demonstrate an equivalent level of theoretical, technical and procedural knowledge plus extensive and proven experience of project management at a high level.
Evidence of relevant continuing training and professional development.
Energy surveying qualification - DEA, NHER, ESOS, DEC or similar (Desirable)
Business management graduate level or equivalent qualification (Desirable)
Prince 2 or other project management training (Desirable)
A knowledge of project management principles when dealing with large scale projects
A knowledge of procurement and contract management principles and processes secured through working with external contractors and funding bodies
Evidenced understanding and track record of effective resource management and practice.
Evidenced understanding of the role of multi-agency partnerships to deliver major housing, regeneration or energy related projects.
An understanding of current legislation and commercial markets relating to housing, regeneration or energy.
An understanding of funding opportunities and financial principles, including government energy and fuel poverty related funded schemes
Knowledge of applying qualitative and quantitative data to support the delivery and performance monitoring of housing, regeneration or energy related projects
A knowledge of communication and marketing principles and practices.

The Contract

GBP16.71 per hour (Paid via Umbrella Company - Rate Uplifted to cover charges)
