Purchase Ledger Clerk

We currently have an opportunity for a Purchase ledger Clerk to join our small, but busy team, based at our Head Office at Round Spinney Industrial Estate, Northampton.

The successful candidate will be required to take sole responsibility for the Purchase Ledger and all associated tasks, using Excel, Sage 200 and our bespoke in-house software (full training with be given).

• Processing a high volume of purchase ledger invoices
• Matching supplier invoices to purchase orders, obtaining correct authorisation, and coding invoices to the nominal
• Raising and resolving supplier queries
• Allocating credit notes
• Reconciling to supplier / expenses statement
• Preparation of weekly payment runs.
• Ensuring the accounts email is monitored and queries resolved.
• Reporting to the Financial Controller
• Year End Reconciliation of the Purchase ledger for the Auditors

Your Profile:

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy are essential with strong numerical and analytical skills
• Ability to pick up procedures and processes quickly
• Self-motivated deadline-driven individual with an ability to work using your own initiative and manage own workload
• You must have determination and drive to resolve queries
• High level of integrity and commitment
• Supportive and reliable team member with a positive 'can-do' attitude
• IT literate
• Excel skills
• Sage accounts experience preferred but not essential as full training will be given
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in an accounting environment

Working as part of a small team we are looking for applicants with an approachable 'can do' attitude. Required to help out where necessary within the finance team at busy times so a need to be flexible and able to adapt your approach accordingly.
