Rhubarb Hospitality Recruitment is searching for a Restaurant Manager for the opening of a plant-based Karma Kitchen concept caf?? restaurant in Billericay, Essex called 'Human Kind Caf??'.
The caf?? restaurant will showcase plant-based dining at its best, with interesting, flavourful and diverse vegan sharing breakfasts, bunches and caf?? treats bursting with colour and flavour and complimented with fresh homemade juices, smoothies and the very best coffees.
The Karma Kitchen Concept
Karma Kitchen's explore the concept of the "gift economy" by offering guests the opportunity to dine with an invoice at the end showing an amount of GBP0.00. That's right. GBP0.00! Now it wouldn't quite be karma if the meals were entirely free in the purest sense of the word because no one (other than the hosts) would be cultivating said positive energy. That's why at the end of every meal, guests receive a check. That check reads GBP0.00 but invites those who have enjoyed the meal to leave a donation that then works to cover the meal of another guest and, in that way, you pay it forward and generate good karma yourself.
The Restaurant is a NOT FOR PROFIT project with all proceeds being used to further develop the Restaurants reach in supporting local community-based efforts of kindness. The objective is to be a sustainable plant-based well-being caf??, a community space where humans can be certain to find kindness, warm spirit, generosity and connection. A space that combats the fast, busy, commercial, and often lonely world in which we live. The aim is to encourage the cultivation of a connection and a harmonious relationship with those in the community around us, the natural environment and our bodies.
We are looking for a Restaurant Manager with senior 'hands-on' experience in managing an independent restaurant, cafe or F&B operation. Candidates must have experience in full operational responsibility as the role will be fully responsible for both the day-to-day operation of the restaurant, including staff management, health and safety control, training, recruitment, ensuring service standards etc, but also financial management, forecasting, control and reporting to the board of directors.
The successful Restaurant Manager will be able to personally align with the principles and objectives of the Karma concept, should be personable, well presented and should understand what excellence in customer experience means being able to deliver a team that consistently delivers this.
Salary is between GBP36,000 and GBP40,000 negotiable dependent on your experience. In addition, there is also opportunity to benefit from a bonus structure based on KPI such as GP/footfall/reviews.
40 hours per week, the site is a mainly day a daytime operation with occasional evening events.
