The Role
Within the Transport Infrastructure Division of Amey we are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager (Quantity Surveyor) to support our CEFA contract based out of our Glasgow office. We are proud to be named Network Rail's principle supplier for the Civil Examinations Framework Agreement; for which our team inspects around 17,000 structures and assets throughout the UK.
As Commercial Manager (Quantity Surveyor) you will oversee a workbook worth in excess of GBP12million annually, implementing commercial best practice and ensuring that value to the business is maximised, whilst the risks and costs are minimised. You will be responsible for sub contract management, supporting with regular CVRs and cross business reports. As Commercial Manager you will liaise directly with the client, and work closely with Operational Route Managers. Whilst functioning as part of a larger contract, you will manage a small team of 1 direct report and will be responsible for their growth and development within Amey.
The role can be undertaken remotely, however you will need to visit the Glasgow office around 4 times per month.
Experience required
This role would suit an experienced commercial manager (Quantity Surveyor) with strong commercial acumen and solid contractual knowledge. Due to the heavy emphasis on reporting and data it is essential that you have an excellent knowledge and experience of using MS Excel. You must be confident liaising directly with your client, with the ability to form meaningful business relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, as well as efficiently managing your own team. This role requires an autonomous individual who is comfortable making decisions and being self-reliant.
A relevant qualification would be advantageous, as would any previous experience within the rail industry.
