Van Driver

Freeway are recruiting on behalf of as client for the following role:

Role: Van Delivery Driver

Job type: Temporary Assignment

Start time: 04:00am (early start)

Days/shifts: Monday to Friday

Start date: ASAP

Job Role / Description:

- You will be supporting a local Leeds based client who specialises in the distribution and delivery of DIY products to a national customer base

- Goods will be delivered on a flat back van which will require drivers to have a good knowledge of using ratchet straps to secure the load before you commence your driving duties

- You must have an excellent knowledge of the UK national road system. Deliveries can be anywhere in England, Wales and Scotland

- Due to the start times you must have excellent punctuality and timekeeping. Early starts are required due to the nature of national customer deliveries required

- All goods carried involve manual unloading. Good carried are heavy and you must be physically able to unload items at the delivery point.

- Deliveries range from single deliveries to 6+ depending on the delivery run and areas covered

- You can expect to work 12 hours plus per day

Requirements:

- Be competent and able to follow Health & Safety practises and procedures at all time

- Be reliable and hold excellent time keeping

- Hold a flexible 'can do' attitude to your work

- Good command of English both written and spoken

- Excellent communication skills

- Keep vehicle is kept clean and tidy at all times

- Have excellent geographic knowledge of UK road network

- Have a positive attitude and a professional work ethic

- Smart appearance, as you will be representing Freeway Recruitment & our Client

Qualifications / training / experience:

You must be able to provide the following;

- Valid UK Driving Licence

- Must have professional/commercial Driving experience

- Have No more than 9 current points on licence (No DR/DD/IN Driving offences

accepted)

- Hold the Licence category advertised for a minimum 2 years

- 2 work checkable work references (A minimum of 1 reference must be a professional Driving role)

Pay & benefits

* Basic hours - GBP10.00 per hour basic hourly pay (standard Paye) up to 40 hours worked

* Overtime - GBP12.50 after 40 hours hours worked

Due to Covid-19, we are able to interview and register a driver online before starting work.
