An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Fitter both mechanical and electrical to carry out maintenance and repair work within our Clients busy Maintenance Workshop.
The duties of this role include carrying out all planned maintenance and repairs to port plant and equipment such as mobile cranes, fork trucks, HGV trucks and trailers and general housekeeping of the workshop, port estate, warehouses and offices.
All work is to be carried out with a key focus on quality and health and safety procedures.
The position requires a full driving licence and ideally previous experience with Port specific plant and machinery and working within a Port operations environment is desirable but not essential.
This role requires the post-holder to have a flexible and pro-active approach to work and working times. You should be able to work independently or within a team with a willingness to learn new skills. Preference will be given to candidates with an NVQ or City & Guilds qualification and whilst not essential, experience relating to steel fabrication skills. IOSH Working Safely certification would also be advantageous
