Cordant People are recruiting a Material Handler / Counterbalance driver. RTITB licence preferred although an In House licence may be considered. Our client is a Manufacturing company based in Ammanford.
2 shift patterns, rotating weekly:-
Monday - Friday 6am-2pm and Monday - Friday 2pm-10pm.
Rate of Pay:-
GBP9.34ph for Mornings / GBP9.92ph for Afternoons
The position is temporary for 12 weeks with a view to become permanent.
Job Description
To efficiently control and deliver components and inventory from the warehouse locations to the production cells on a regular shift frequency. Assisting with all aspects of warehouse physical material flow in and out of the plant.
Key responsibilities:
Efficiently delivering material and components to lineside on a regular set frequency throughout the shift to assure correct stock levels and housekeeping is maintained.
Removal of waste packaging and empty boxes on a regular shift frequency to assure the correct levels of housekeeping is maintained at all times on the shopfloor.
Feeding the stock to the operators to assure no line stoppages or waiting time for material.
Assuring product is labelled correctly and first in first out is respected.
Suggesting ways to improve material flow efficiencies and visual management, clear identification of components storage line-side location labelling, Kan Ban etc.
General housekeeping duties and assuring boxes, pallets and waste products are located in the correct area of the yard to respect environmental practices.
Periodic stock checks and perpetual inventory if required.
Booking and transferring of stock on the company material management system.
Escalating shortages or last pallet / box to avoid unforeseen material shortages.
Assuring mechanical handling equipment daily check are completed in line with EHS policies.
General support within other areas of the Logistics department if required / holiday cover support.
General flexibility towards the Logistics department and a spirit of continuous improvement.
