Description:-

My client is a well established, leading manufacturer of quality compost and growing media, made from recycled green materials. They operate major production facilities in both the North and South of the country. These strategic locations, unique in their industry, allow for efficient national distribution to satisfy the largest retailers' demands.

Due to significant growth and a number of recent contract 'wins' they are in the process of recruiting an Inventory/Stock Manager to join the organisation.

The successful person will be fully responsible for maintaining the supply and demand of inventory, and ensuring that there are adequate stocks available for all stock, both bulk materials and finished goods.

They will record all stock movements in-coming and out-going from production and storage sites and reconcile booked stock to monthly stock takes. The Inventory Manager will also ensure stock purchasing, delivery and shipping confirmations, and manage inventory balances through the Oracle Inventory system.

Key Accountabilities:-

* Partner with production and sales teams to ensure sufficent raw materials to keep factories supplied and sufficent finished goods stock to ensure customer deliveries.

* Liase with Yard/Stocking ground supervisors for stock movements. Including those between factory and storage locations, as well as those to and from 3rd party/outscourced supplier.

* Control all consumables such as packaging, raw materials, monitoring the recording of stock levels and liasing with Production Planner and factory Managers to ensure correct stock levels are maintained. Monitor and highlight any potential storage/risks taking into account lead times.

* Lead and deliver accurate month end / year end stock counts for all materials and finished goods in all locations, factories, storage loactions and 3rd party manufacture.

* Ensure integrity of stock count and reconcilation back to Oracle. Liase with finance team in all reconciliations of stock levels and stock movements for end of month and end of year accounts.

* Reconcile any stock losses through wastage/damage and liase with yard/stocking ground.

* Develop a number of critical success factors (CSF) and maintain a set of KPI's to report performance to management team and track improvement. Develop a cycle of continous improvement in CSF's and monitor through KPI's.

Experience Required:-

* 3-5 Years experience as an Inventory Manager and/or Stock Controller.

* Strong understanding of the Manufacturing sector

* Professional qualifications in Stock Control/Inventory management.

* A working knowledge of Oracle is desirable or similar such as SAP.

* Experience of MRP/ERP systems and how to optimise to suit changing requirements
