ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting and challenging opportunity to deliver an innovative new service for parents involved in Domestic Abuse. We are currently recruiting a team of DA specialist caseworkers to provide a range of one to one and group-based interventions to support both victims and perpetrators. We are recruiting and training practitioners who have either worked with domestic abuse, or have experience and transferable skills from related settings.
The Perpetrator Caseworker will provide intense support to parents who are perpetrators of domestic abuse to enable them to safely make positive changes to their behaviour in order to ensure the safety of their victims and promote the wellbeing of their children. Interventions will be delivered through a bespoke structured group work programme, alongside a range of 121 interventions.
We are looking for candidates who have experience of empowering individuals to make positive changes to their lives, supporting clients with complex needs in a relevant field (preferably domestic abuse). Successful candidates will need to be compassionate, non-judgemental, skilled in active listening, and experienced in risk management and safety planning, as well as being a skilled communicator able to develop partnership relationships in a multi-disciplinary team.
Successful candidates will be provided with a range of training suitable for these new roles, including Motivational Interviewing.
These new roles will be delivered in partnership with Reducing the Risk and will be embedded in children’s social work services. They will form part of the new Family Solutions Plus model being delivered by Oxfordshire County Council, designed to provide an inter-professional whole family response to support children and families, aiming to improve outcomes for children, as well as the family unit as a whole.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Elmore Community Services are an equal opportunities employer and committed to diversity and inclusion within our workforce. We have made a positive commitment to employing disabled people and guarantee to interview all disabled candidates who meet the minimum essential criteria for the role as set out in role profiles.
