Building Surveyor to deliver a range of carbon reduction works alongside planned works for housing in Exeter
Your new company
You'll be joining a public sector agency who are responsible for the management and improvement of affordable housing located across the central and wider Exeter area. As a Building Surveyor you'll be working with a group of technical specialists who are at the forefront of delivering carbon reduction schemes, alongside a wide range of other energy efficiency projects.
Your new role
Your primary role will be to work as a Building Surveyor responsible for the delivery of planned programmes of works. This role will include producing and reviewing specifications and schedules of works, engaging with contractors and delivering project works on-site, effectively managing the process throughout and ensuring value for money and quality is achieved.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this position you'll ideally have a background in affordable housing, although this is not essential. You'll have a technical understanding of property and property issues which may impact on the delivery of work, and you'll need to have excellent contractor management ability and a sound construction knowledge.
What you'll get in return
In return you'll receive an initial six month contract which is likely to extend further. You may also have the opportunity to move into a permanent position across this time. Initially you will receive an hourly rate of pay of between GBP24 - GBP26 per hour, with the ability to work 38 hour per week.
