Our client is a very well respected and long established Engineering company based in Derbyshire. The company run a steelwork fabrication workshop and a steel stock holding business supplying a wide range of steelwork members, plates etc. to a diverse range of clients throughout the UK.
They now require a Salesperson to join their busy commercial team.
The Role:
* Promoting and selling products of the steel stock-holding side of the business.
* Introduce other aspects and services of the business, i.e. steelwork fabrication and their complete product range.
* Maintain existing client management to include PR visits.
* Generate new client potential - search /market /contact / visit.
* Existing client management / incoming sales represents around 70% of workload with regular incoming sales enquires to handle.
* Approx. 30% of time will be spent on generating new business. Typical week will be split approx. 60% spent on the road and 40% in the office, quoting, paperwork, and admin. generating quotes, researching new potential customers etc. Most business is Midlands based, but not exclusively. Occasional overnight stay may be required but certainly not the norm.
The candidate.
* Ideally candidates are sought with a minimum of 2 years sales experience, working within the steelwork industry, working for a steel stock holder, fabrication company, general steelwork engineering company or similar.
* Experienced candidates from the steelwork industry, currently in roles such as estimating, buying etc. that have no direct sales experience, but aspire to work as a salesperson, may also be considered.
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential.
* Must be very IT competent with excellent experience using Microsoft office, word, excel etc.
* Ideally this role would suit a hardworking, driven salesperson who wants to develop a career with a long established, respected, and diverse engineering company with good prospects and career potential.
