SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to both the UK MD and CHRO in the US, you will shape and drive the core HR activities to establish a best in class function to deliver the business objectives.
 
Your mission:
 
Take control, set high standards and build confidence in your peers to be the bridge between the US and Europe.
 
As part of the local leadership team, be the business partner and sounding board to drive people performance.
 
Upskill a largely new and inexperienced cohort of junior team managers to establish positive performance management strategies, especially across their sales and development teams.
 
This role is responsible for setting the tone to develop HR strategies and providing sound advice to the CHRO and Managing Director of Europe; with responsibility for ensuring that regional and global business priorities are achieved through the established HR strategy and frameworks. This position acts as an advisor to the EMEA team in matters relating to management strategy, staffing, performance management, employee relations and professional development. In addition, this position will be involved in the creation and implementation of various HR programs and initiatives, working closely with other members of the Global HR team. Your position will be liaising with European leaders and employees to support local operations and working to ensure global initiatives are effective, locally tailored and compliant.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
- Plans, leads, develops, co-ordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organisation's human resource compliance and strategy needs
- Provides expertise, guidance and coaching to leaders managing highly sensitive and complex employee relations matters, including terminations, people issues and trends and all things people related
- Investigates employee complaints, discrimination charges and assists in the resolution of employee issues
- Oversees the administrative development of the new hire procedures, on-boarding, and record keeping storage in partnership with Global Onboarding
- Provides information for, and participates in, audits of HR related information
- Enhances capabilities of leaders through coaching/training and assists with team effectiveness in partnership with Global L&D
- Proactively provides individual employee coaching and guidance on career development, based on a strong understanding of a person's interests and aspirations and knowledge of the business
- Manages benefits program and works with CHRO and broker on plan changes/design, carrier selection, contribution strategy and problem resolution
- Acts as a change agent when managing organizational change where it relates to core HR activities organisational design, change management, team member engagement, organisational restructuring and transitions
- Interprets data analytics to identify trends, interventions and solutions and has the ability to present data and create solutions based on findings
- Leads and supports cross-functional projects as needed, assists with the communication and rollout of updated or new people programs and policies
- Builds deep personalised relationships with leaders and employees and proactively supports people through their life, career and project experiences
- Leads succession planning and talent development strategies, identifying critical roles and preparing potential talent and pipelines for mentoring, training etc.
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
 
To be considered for European HR Director, you will need:
 
- Proven HR Leadership in a growth culture, preferably with a US firm
- Experience working with EU subsidiaries and local HR teams/advisors
- Demonstrable results improving key metrics for performance management, employee relations and hiring as an HRBP, preferably in a global, dynamic, fast-growing technology/software business
- Bachelor's in human resources, business administration or relevant field; Master's degree a plus. Certification such as CIPD Certification a plus
- Ability to establish solid relationships with all levels of an organisation, strong influencing and negotiation skills
- Comfortable working in an environment which demands strong deliverables along with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate resolutions
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable UK and EU laws and regulations related to HR and general business practices
- Able to create, analyse, report and manipulate data as it relates to HR metrics
- Excellent leadership, problem solving, project management, communication, listening and presentation skills
- Self-directed and motivated
- Knowledge of HRIS or related HR technologies
- Proven track record of driving results
- English is the company language but additional languages and experience working with other cultures will be highly regarded
- Understands the "big picture" and can juggle many priorities
- Strong sense of urgency and drive to produce results
- Thorough knowledge of human resource management principles and best practices
