International Accountant RTR
In this role you will ensure the successful transition of defined transactional and reporting services for our international business units into a newly created Record to Report team. Once that successful transition has been achieved, you will maintain an effective "business as usual" service thereafter. You will be responsible for orderly, accurate and timely reporting for the Group's international hubs in India, South Africa, APAC, and the US.
City & Guilds is going through a period of significant change, fundamentally reorganising and improving the way it delivers internal services. We are about to launch our Global Business Services centre in Wakefield, which includes the new RTR team, and this is a great opportunity to be part of a brand new set up.
Our new GBS centre in Wakefield is just off junction 41 of the M1 and you'll need to be within reasonable commuting distance of there.

About The Role
As International Accountant RTR, you liaise with our overseas businesses to ensure compliance with all relevant accounting and tax related policies. You'll be responsible for ensuring prompt accounting close in OneStream (our consolidation tool), balance sheet control, and month end reconciliations for international hubs.
You'll be actively liaising with the overseas units to ensure this happens, as well as supporting UK close when needed. The role will be responsible for the provision of regular monthly reporting and ad hoc analysis as required. Key to its success will be the building of collaborative working relationships with overseas colleagues as the Group adjusts to new ways of working. The role will have responsibility for an internationally based team of 7.
This role will be a great opportunity for someone who is actively working towards a recognised Accounting Qualification preferably in the final stage. Your experience will have ben gained in a multinational environment, where hubs use differing reporting tools, and where accounting standards and tax rules vary locally.
You must also have a good working knowledge of UK IFRS and a basic understanding of International tax rules for the key hubs. Your skill set should also include using disparate accounting systems in a multi-currency environment. You must have great interpersonal skills, which will help enable you to lead your team and to work with key global finance stakeholders. The role requires someone with strong Excel skills to carry out regular reporting and Ad Hoc analysis as required.
