Overview
We are currently recruiting a Logistics Specialist for a well-established manufacturer in Ebbw Vale, South Wales. There is a salary of up to GBP28,000 on offer working Monday - Friday office hours with an early finish on Fridays.
The Role
Responsible for safeguarding the flow of information and material transfer towards the customer and external supply centres. Besides an explicit orientation to customer requirements the Customer Logistics Specialist has to check plausibility of customer demands and take into account a cost-effective use of resources and cost-optimized processes.
The Specialist is also responsible for ensuring availability of packaging material and returnables for production and customer. He/she manages on the returnables accounts in collaboration with customers and internal.
Duties will include:
* Receive single orders or customer call-offs from the customer and enter them into the order processing system.
* Create delivery schedule
* EDI and CDP Processing
* Check orders due for deliveries & create delivery notes, notify forwarder and/or customer
* The receipt and disposition determination of defective/excess products as defined by the warranty claims, product recall, non-conforming product and/or other similar policies including appropriate replacement.
* Tasks related to defining and maintaining rules which affect the acceptance of a single order/call-off, based on quantity, method of delivery, credit, customer experience, etc. (Include distribution channel rules)
* Support in defining the requirement and monitoring the performance of the delivery of product to a customer.
* Support SCM processes in Product Termination Notification and Product Change Notificaition process (PTN/PCN)
* Assure an efficient, in time and safe management of empties process for returnable packaging (Customer and internal/intercompany business)
The Person
* Bachelor's degree or similar or qualification within area of production or SCM / Logistics
* Typically two years of professional experience required
* Preferably has led a first SCM or interface project
* Project leadership experience preferred but not required
