Procurement Category Manager

Eden Scott is delighted to be working with our exciting Glasgow-based Life Sciences client on an exclusive basis, in order to recruit a Procurement Category Manager to join their lively, burgeoning Glasgow operation. The business has gone from strength-to-strength over the past 12 months and has increased its workforce by another c.20% in that time. The company is looking to further scale-up its operation as it grows its US market share & they need an ambitious team-player with existing procurement experience (or relevant commercial experience in a scientific field) to help them on the next stage of their journey.

They are ideally looking for a Senior Buyer-level individual who is ready to take their next step into Category Management and beyond. Life Sciences experience is a plus but by no means a necessity if you are the right kind of person- others have successfully made a transition into the business from other sectors.

The Role

* You will act as a consultant to our customers, to project manage large capex tenders, from consultation to the creation of user requirement specifications and management of a tender process.

* You will become an expert on the category and supplier market, comfortably negotiating and able to facilitate the best value buying decisions.

* You will drive continuous improvement of procurement processes, the customer experience as well as supporting the development of the broader team.

* Your expert knowledge will be used to aid the in-house development of our software solution and the service we provide to our customers.

* You will enjoy building rapport with customers and suppliers at all levels, to lead stakeholders through a robust project management process.

The Person

* A real self-starter, you will enjoy driving change and delivering results in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, passionate about your contribution to the overall business.

* Minimum of 5 years' work experience with a proven track record at managing and delivering projects with excellent organisational and planning skills and the ability to work to deadlines and flex to changing priorities. You will not be phased when projects are out-with your normal area of expertise. You will quickly get up to speed, pivoting from the evaluation of fine detail to strategic thinking.

* You will have evident skills in influencing, communicating effectively and persuasively to a range of audiences, both internally and externally.

* Experience in a fast-paced industry- Life Sciences, FMCG, other high-volume manufacturing etc

The company offers a fun, dynamic, and vibrant environment where people are supported to do their best work, and everyone has the opportunity to make a difference.

The salary on offer is really competitive DOE, with benefits including: flexible working, salary sacrifice pension scheme, bonus, life assurance, holiday buy scheme, length of service awards, private health care, employee assistance programme and much more.

Don't miss out, apply now! If this isn't quite right, please register your CV with Eden Scott for a confidential discussion around what you might be looking for as a next step
