Trustee

Curve, Leicester

Voluntary

Curve is a leading producing theatre, creating compelling cultural experiences for all those who live, learn, visit and work in Leicester. Under the leadership of Chief Executive, Chris Stafford and Artistic Director Nikolai Foster, Curve has developed a reputation for producing, programming and touring a bold and diverse programme of musicals, plays, new work and dance. All of this is presented alongside a dynamic mix of community engagement and learning opportunities, which firmly places audiences and communities at the heart of everything we do.

We are seeking up to four new Trustees to formally join the Board in November 2021. As a member of our Board you will be responsible with your fellow Trustees for the good stewardship and governance of the theatre. Working with the Chief Executive, the Artistic Director and members of the team, you will discuss, approve and monitor our strategy for development and success. You will have oversight of our finances and resources and ensure that these are managed appropriately and in the best interests of the charity. And you will share in the passion of a hard-working and talented team of people who share a commitment to creating great work for everyone.

We particularly welcome applications from those who have one or more of the following: the following:

  • Experience of digital development and marketing.
  • Experience of fundraising and sponsorship in the charity or arts fields.
  • Experience of governance in the charity sector.
  • Senior experience as a legal practitioner.
  • Strategic finance experience.
  • An opinion former and influencer, able to act as an ambassador for Curve.

For further information visit our website http://www.curveonline.co.uk/about-us/careers/ and to apply for this role submit a covering letter setting out why you are suitable for the role, and why you want to be part of the Board of Trustees (no more than 2 pages) along with your CV.

Closing date for applications: Sunday, 23 May 2021

We are an inclusive organisation, from our trustees and team members to our audience and participants. We treat all job applicants equally, regardless of class, age, disability, gender identity or gender expression, race, ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation or any other equality characteristic. We particularly encourage applications from individuals who are underrepresented in the cultural sector.
