Consultant Psychiatrist
Join Care in Mind - A Unique and Innovative Approach to Supporting Young People in Care.
Care in Mind provide residential services for young people aged 16-25 years old who have been discharged from psychiatric inpatient stays or may have experienced previous admissions and/or placement breakdowns. The young people we care for often require a high level of support and dynamic approach to risk management in order to support problems they may have with self-harming, behaviour and emotional regulation.
Our aim is to support the young people using a therapeutic, least restrictive approach to live in a non-secure community setting and to achieve their individual goals in preparation for transition to adult life. We currently provide 10 residential homes that cover the North of England and are expanding further in the next year.
We are now looking to recruit:
Consultant Psychiatrist
Permanent, 37.5 hours per week (10 Programmed Activities)
Location: Flexible-home and service based, support to cover 3 hubs across the Northwest

The role of the Consultant Psychiatrist in the team is to provide strong leadership and support in clinical care and risk management and to offer psychopharmacological management where needed. There are also opportunities for research and service development for our Consultants in what is a fast growing, innovative and exciting environment in which to work.
The postholder will hold a CCT (or equivalent) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, General Adult Psychiatry or Forensic Psychiatry and will have experience of working with young people and/or young adults with complex mental health presentations, including personality disorders.
