Grounds & Landscape Manager

Rare opportunity to work for a large established country Estate - and take over responsibility for the management improvement and development of the grounds and landscape areas, able to oversee all support staff, suppliers and sub contractual cover where necessary. Knowledge in project management utilising your own creative ideas for the Estate, working with and managing your team

Salary Circa GBP30K standard working hours 8am - 4.30. Mon - Friday (with lunch and tea breaks) will require some flexibility to work additional hours during busy periods good Pension scheme Possibility of supplied cottage on site for the right level of candidate

Overview of Skills

NVQ Level 3/Industry based diploma or equivalent experience

Senior Landscape maintenance role with team management responsibilities

Strong communicator at all levels

Industry- based professional tickets of Competence or willingness to take appropriate training.

Use of maintenance of grassland and woodland Management machinery - which will include 6 ton tipper trailer - Chipper - Flail Topper and an array of strimmers/hedge trimmers and chainsaws.

Essential functions

Planting and laying of hedges

Pruning of young trees

Small scale tree felling

Management of 3rd party contractors

Strong understanding of farming with ability to liaise with Tenanted farmers at all levels

Installation and maintenance or a wide mix of fencing

Litter picking

An established knowledge of the countryside and farming generally

Topping of grassland and woodland rides

Use of tractors and other associated machines

Spot spraying of weeds using knapsack sprayers

Planting and laying of hedges.

Laying of impermeable stoned surfaces as well as grass turf and all aftercare
