Wirral is home to vibrant, energetic and engaged communities, people who take real ownership of their local area and are passionate about making Wirral a better place. The council and its partners have pledged to #BeTheDifference.

We’ve got ambitious targets to meet by 2025. To achieve everything we have promised to  our residents, we need people who are driven and ready to deliver the very best for our communities - #BeTheDifference.

Wirral Council are recruiting Emergency Control Room Officers (ECROs) to be responsible for the call handling of incoming emergencies and enquiries from the public and outside agencies, working in a team operating a 24-hour service. The role will support the delivery of the Wirral Community Safety Strategy, working with other agencies, supporting neighbourhood policing to reduce crime/anti-social behaviour and provide reassurance to the public.

ECROs will monitor the Authority's new public space CCTV camera system, providing 24- hour cover, as part of a shift system.

We would expect the successful candidate to be able to react to emergency situations and deal with them in accordance with the operating procedures in the Emergency Control Room

The successful applicants will work in a modern control room and be the first point of contact for the Council in an emergency.

They would be expected to deal with out-of-hours calls for the local Authority, as well as monitoring the radio and alarm systems for our service area/users.

We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic, and trusted people who can prove that they can work under pressure and as part of a team.

Above all, we are looking to put our residents/customers at the heart of everything we do and to make Wirral a safe and pleasant place to live, work and visit.

This is a fixed term contract for 12-months with a generous holiday entitlement and pension scheme.

The salary will be £20,493 P/A, plus shift allowances
