Wirral is home to vibrant, energetic and engaged communities, people who take real ownership of their local area and are passionate about making Wirral a better place. The council and its partners have pledged to #BeTheDifference.

We’ve got ambitious targets to meet by 2025. To achieve everything we have promised to our residents, we need people who are driven and ready to deliver the very best for our communities - #BeTheDifference.

Wirral Council are recruiting additional Community Patrol Officers to provide a safety and security role around the Borough for the benefit of the  community of Wirral. The role will support the delivery of the Wirral Community Safety Strategy, working with other agencies, supporting the police to reduce crime/anti-social behaviour and provide reassurance to the public, operating 24 hours as part of a shift system.

They will join a team who cover all aspects of security including static guarding, event security, alarm response and patrols. They will benefit from working alongside a state of the art, modern control room monitoring CCTV systems and alarms to meet individual needs for both commercial and domestic customers. Working across the Borough they will gather information, monitor hotspots and work with other agencies in a problem-solving approach to neighbourhood issues.

We would expect the successful candidates to advise the public on the Local Authority by-laws and Public Space Protection Order legislation and take enforcement action where appropriate.

We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic and trusted people who can prove that they can work under pressure and as part of a team.

Above all, we are looking to put our residents/customers at the heart of everything we do and to make Wirral a safe and pleasant place to live, work and visit.

This is a fixed term contract for 12-months with a generous holiday entitlement and pension scheme.

The salary is £22,183 per year plus shift allowances.
