Contract Type
Full Time
You will join as Communications Officer to help CLIC Sargent, the UK's leading cancer charity for children and young people, on its mission to make sure that every child or young person with cancer from 0-25 gets the support they need.
Communications Officer Requirements:
Once upon a time there was a storyteller, one of the greatest storytellers in all the land. This storyteller knew how to captivate any audience they encountered, those with the attention span of a goldfish and a scrolling habit and even the most cynical journalist or busy politician. What was the secret to their success? This storyteller knew the power of the stories they told of children and young people with cancer, and the honour it was to tell them.
Sound like this could be you? We're looking for an amazing person to join our merry team.
You will take lead responsibility for providing communications support on CLIC Sargent's corporate and brand partnerships and a range of communications projects at CLIC Sargent. Through the development and delivery of communications plans and engagement activities you will help the charity to really maximise the opportunity to raise the profile of CLIC Sargent and help corporate partner's staff to raise vital funds for our fight for young lives against cancer.
You'll have experience of working in a busy press office or lively social media management and you'll be as comfortable building great relationships with families or young people as with corporate partners, journalists, celebrities or colleagues across the charity.
You'll get a real buzz from seeing how you can help change the system and make stuff happen for young cancer patients. You'll be unflappable, friendly, determined and have loads of creative ideas on how to get our stories heard by many different audiences up and down the UK.
Like all great storytellers you'll be happy sharing these powerful stories across a range of channels whether it's crafting something for insta, Twitter and Facebook, writing amazing media releases, delivering some awesome internal comms or briefing a colleague before they appear on the BBC Breakfast sofa.
About CLIC Sargent:
Today, 12 children and young people in the UK hear the shocking news they have cancer. CLIC Sargent is the UK's leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families, and provides them with clinical, practical, emotional and financial support.
