Engineering Buyer

Buyer required. My cleint is a well established manufactuer of rolling stock solutions to the Mining and aggregates sector. They are looking to recruit a buyer due to continued company growth and envisge that the suyccseful cfandidate will come from an established purchasing background and be based locally to Burton upon Trent.

Buyer Position Overview

Purchase order placement based on Customer's demand on MRP
Engage suppliers with RFQ's at New Product Introduction stage
Constantly checking stock level to ensure inventory at minimum as possible
Resolve urgent components shortage issues
Negotiate with suppliers and achieve cost reduction target
Consolidate supply base and lead resource project
Support and improve PPM target
Mitigate cost increase risks
Ensure NPI project deliveries on timeBuyer Position Requirements

Previous Purchasing / Buying experience in a manufacturing environment is essential
Engineering or design understanding
Experience working with Low Batch, bespoke solutions
Any experience with Rolling stock solutions would be advantageous
Microsoft NAV experience would be beneficial
Based within a commutable distance of Burton upon Trent
Full UK Driving LicenceBuyer Position Remuneration

Salary GBP30,000 - GBP35,000 DOE
Monday to Thursday - 8:00 - 16:30 Friday 8:00 - 13:00
25 days holiday plus public holidays
