Coventry City Council - Commercial waste (Class 2 HGV Driver)
Location: 259 London Road, Whitley, Coventry, CV3 4AR
Contract: Initial contract to 30th September 2021 with possible further extensions.
Hours: Monday to Thursday - 6am to 2.30pm (maybe later or earlier) Friday - 6am to 11.30am (maybe later or earlier)
Payrate: GBP10.21 an Hour
Additional Information: Immediate start - Driving Assessment to be conducted.
Job Summary
To drive a heavy goods vehicle normally undertaking refuse collection or recycling collection and follow the organisation's procedures on the delivery of loads.
Undertaking routine maintenance of the vehicle and taking reasonable care at all times for the safety and welfare of yourself and other persons.
Candidate Profile
To hold the relevant HGV licence.
To hold a clean driving licence which is applicable in the UK.
Aware of safe working practices.
Able to undertake routine maintenance of motor vehicles and recognise faults with the vehicle needing referral to other services.
Organised and able to plan out tasks to meet deadlines.
